This Traffic Control course training will provide students with the skills and knowledge they require to function as a Traffic Controller with a stop-slow bat in and around active construction and resource sites. For more information on this training package, please visit the below link.
Traffic Controller Accreditation SchemeOnce completed the Statement of Attainment must be taken (along with the Accredited Traffic Controller Application form and licence application fee) to Qld Transport when lodging your Traffic Controllers Licence Application.
Theoretical Requirements: 1 full day (8 hours) in classroom with an accredited Traffic Control trainer.
Practical Requirements: 20 hours of on-site placement completed through a licensed traffic control company, and signed off by a qualified Traffic Controller. This placement must be completed within 3 months*. You will be required to keep a record of your activities in the TMR Logbook (see attached).
Students can complete this practical (20 hours) experience with their own employer, a licensed Traffic Control company they have a relationship with, or with one of our traffic partners. Talk to us to determine the best option for you.
Final Assessment: Please note that once your supervisor has signed you off on your 20 hours of Traffic Control, you need to see the trainer one last time to complete your ‘Final Assessment’. Ring us to book in your final assessment. You will need to bring your completed Log Book (supplied during your theory training) and wear your full PPE.
Participants will need a basic level of language and literacy, as this course requires participants to complete a theory assessment and receive a 100% pass mark.
Construction Induction Card: It is a requirement of this course to hold a Construction Induction White Card (White Card). If you do not have a White Card, you will be able to attend the theory component of the training however, you will need to provide Link Resources Training with a copy your White Card prior to commencing the practical training.
Drivers Licence: It is a requirement for your to have held an open or provisional driver licence (Australian or foreign) within the last 5 years (this ensures applicants have an understanding of vehicle manoeuvrability and braking dynamics).
If you do not have a Drivers Licence or a Qld Construction Induction Card, you will not be able to complete your training to be deemed competent to receive your Statement of Attainment.
If you are under the age of 18, a parent or guardian will need to sign the enrolment form on your behalf.
Students will be required to obtain the following PPE to complete their practical assessment and to wear as part of the requirements for their final assessment.
